Fresh for his unforgettable performance and to everyone who came out to make it another fantastic event. Special appreciation goes out to The Black Pearls Society for organizing such an incredible way to celebrate Father’s Day and Juneteenth each year. \nThe 3rd Annual Pearls Jam\, held on Sunday\, June 16\, 2024\, at The Continental Club in Downtown Greensboro\, was nothing short of amazing. With perfect weather and Doug E. Fresh\, The Original Human Beatbox\, bringing the house down\, it was a night to remember. \nThe energy was high\, the food trucks were buzzing\, and the crowd was vibing from start to finish. Thanks to everyone who came out and made it a truly special celebration!

Creating a safe space that centers the voices of local Black women and birthing people\, families\, and community stakeholders to deepen the understanding of the Maternal and infant mortality crisis. \n  \nThe conference will also include an art installation and ritual ceremonies. The conference will raise awareness and galvanize the support and activism of advocates within the community\, especially women\, mothers\, and birthing people\, health care advocates and providers\, birthing assistants and doulas\, systems leaders\, and policy makers. \n  \nFurther\, there are many siloed initiatives taking place across the State that lack cohesion and united efforts. This conference will serve as a place for connections and collaborations to form that may provide an opportunity to collectively address one of the country’s most pervasive public health issues. \n

This unforgettable evening of music and culture featured Grammy-nominated artist Stokley as the headliner\, with a special performance by The Band Untitled. \nAs part of the Black Pearls Society’s commitment to celebrating and uplifting Black excellence\, the Black Pearls Jam has become an annual tradition—one that continues to bring people together through music\, community\, and culture. Many who attended called it an amazing experience and are already looking forward to next year’s event!

Hosted by the Black Pearls Society—a sisterhood dedicated to nurturing\, training\, and sustaining the legacy of strong Black women—this event was the public launch of our Arts and Virtuosity initiative\, honoring our rich culture and history. \nThis intimate R&B experience featured both local and international talent\, including four-time Grammy nominee Eric Benét and the legendary FutureBandDC. Held outdoors\, rain or shine\, guests enjoyed incredible live music\, delicious food from local food trucks\, and a cash bar\, making it a night to remember.
