SUMMARY:Inaugural Black Maternal & Infant Health Conference
DESCRIPTION:This two-day program will elevate community-led entities that focus on maternal health and reproductive justice and enhance community organizing and activism for Black maternal and infant health. Creating a safe space that centers the voices of local Black women and birthing people\, families\, and community stakeholders to deepen the understanding of the Maternal and infant mortality crisis. \n  \nThe conference will also include an art installation and ritual ceremonies. The conference will raise awareness and galvanize the support and activism of advocates within the community\, especially women\, mothers\, and birthing people\, health care advocates and providers\, birthing assistants and doulas\, systems leaders\, and policy makers. \n  \nFurther\, there are many siloed initiatives taking place across the State that lack cohesion and united efforts. This conference will serve as a place for connections and collaborations to form that may provide an opportunity to collectively address one of the country’s most pervasive public health issues. \n
