Across the nation, many elders and millennials have found themselves at odds with each other, often standing firmly on very different sides of compelling issues affecting the Black community. Cancel culture of call-out culture describes a form of boycott in which someone is thrust out of social or professional circles – either online on social media, in the real world, or both. It has become a point of contention and a popular practice of young people and often practiced against elders and public officials they oppose. This conversation will center around a discussion of how we organize an intergenerational truce that supports the rebuilding of our community while valuing and acknowledging our different approaches.
